The sliding input keyboard application "TouchPal" has 180 million users-- obvious when the co-founder of CooTek and the NY license went public.

CooTek, the Chinese mobile Internet company that runs the virtual keyboard "TouchPal", has 180m users in 240 countries and regions, chairman Zhang Kan told employees in an open letter this week.

Zhang commented before CooTek went public in New York on Sept. 28, local media reported. However, the method of measuring geographical location numbers has not been described in detail.

CooTek filed to go public in the US last month with an initial aim of raising $100m. But the company set its share price low, raising $52 million. In addition, the company's shares are 18% below their open price of $11.50 on their first day of trading in New York.

The company said it had 100000 daily active users (DAU), up 75 per cent from last year. The main source of revenue is mobile advertising. He also believes that total advertising revenue grew by 453 per cent from January to June this year.

CooTek has been taking an international approach since its inception in 2008. 95% of the users are outside China. The company believes that keyboards may not be an "attractive" technology, but smartphone owners use them all. TouchPal's keyboard is equipped with glider input function and error input correction, predictive conversion and personal assistant, and is available in more than 80 languages. According to the listing application, the TouchPal keyboard is 100 25 million DAU and Manson has 100 71 million active users (MAU).
